It is with great
pleasure that the Board and members of Karate New/Nouveau Brunswick
congratulates Sensei Alcide Bourque, for being inducted into the New Brunswick
Sports Hall of Fame. Karate New Brunswick, as a formal organization was formed
in 1989, and it is thanks to the hard work and dedication of Sensei Bourque as
a founding father, and vigilant worker, that laid the groundwork for our Sport
in this province, as well as Atlantic Canada.
Although karate formally stated as an Association in 1989, there were many
years prior to this, that Sensei Bourque had started teaching karate in New
Brunswick & Atlantic Canada. It is with great pride that we acknowledge
Sensei Bourque's contribution to the Art/Sport of karate, We wish him all the
best in his future endeavors, as he carries on today in his club in Grande
